Section I. Neurons and synapses
Neurons connect with each other through synapses: small spaces between these cells that allow for information transmission in the form of chemical and electrical exchanges. Synapses are crucial for brain’s plasticity, and are the basis of memories in the brain. In these paintings, memories are represented as fleeting birds and flowers floating around the shapes of neurons and synapses.

Section II. Portraits of remembrance
Remembering is a fascinating process. In these pieces, I represent it by showing the different emotions people can go through when recollecting a memory. Memories are represented as birds that interact with people in many different ways.
