Section I. Molecules
In these paintings, I explore the beauty of chemical structures in colorful flowers and birds. Check under each painting which molecule it represents. You can also ask me to paint your favourite structure!

Section II. Neurons and synapses
Neurons connect with each other through synapses: small spaces between these cells that allow for information transmission in the form of chemical and electrical exchanges. Synapses are crucial for brain’s plasticity, and are the basis of memories in the brain. In these paintings, memories are represented as fleeting birds and flowers floating around the shapes of neurons and synapses.

Section III. Duality
The old and the new come together to represent thoughts and reconsolidation processes. In order to represent these contrasting mechanisms, I explore the use of charcoal together with watercolour and ink.
